Dance enthusiasts now meet four times a year in Bad Hofgastein to immerse themselves in the world of dance. Young and old, beginners and professionals, to brush up on dance styles or discover new ones in a unique location.

Tanz:Fest Gastein in winter and summer with workshops from Standard and Latin to Discofox, Boogie & LindyHop, Salsa & West Coast Swing. Top dance teachers and trainers ensure unforgettable dance experiences. The evening events offer plenty of opportunity to dance and each promises to be a social highlight in its own right.

Tanz:Fest Gastein Linedance Editionwhich will take place for the first time in 2026. Modern Linedance, Country Linedance and Latin Solo are on the program, Linedance parties in the evening and lots of choreographies from our international Linedance trainers.

Swing Valley Festivalwhich is all about West Coast Swing. Lots of workshops with top instructors from all over the world, beginner boot camps and social dance parties await the West Coast Swing community.

Who can take part in Tanz:Fest Gastein?

All dance enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced dancers. There are workshops for all levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced.

What tickets are available?

Day passes:
1 day pass (optional),
3-day pass (FR-SO) and
5 day pass (MI-SO)

How much do the tickets cost?

You can find the ticket prices directly in the online store.

For ticket bookings until 31.1.2026 you will receive an early bird bonus.

Where can I buy the tickets?

How do I get my Tanz:Fest documents and the Tanz:Fest ribbon?

You can get the Tanz:Fest ribbon, the brochure and all information at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk in the Congress Center. Please take your booking confirmation (e-mail) with you! The Tanz:Fest ribbon gives you access to all workshops and events included in your dance pass.

Where can I find the workshop timetable?

In the Tanz:Fest brochure, which you will receive at your "Check In" at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk or online.

Which workshops can I attend with my ticket?

You can attend all workshops that take place on the day on which your ticket is valid. You do not need to register for a workshop in advance.

What workshop levels are there? What are the requirements?

B = Beginner: No prerequisites. Basic steps and simple figures are taught.
1 = Basic knowledge (basic steps and simple figures) of the respective dance is required.
2 = Good knowledge of the respective dance is required.
3 = Many years of dance experience and dance technique are required.

We ask that you attend the workshops according to your own ability. This will allow you to get the most out of the workshops.

Where do the workshops take place?

The workshops all take place in the congress center of the Kongress Gastein in Bad Hofgastein.

Is it possible to film the workshop content for your own use?

At the end of each workshop you have the opportunity to film the lesson content (step sequences, figures). Please note that recordings of any kind (sound, video) are only permitted during the time defined by the dance teacher. Publication of the recordings is NOT permitted!

Do I need a dance partner?

Most workshops teach couple dances. A dance partner is of course not absolutely necessary, but it makes sense to have a dance partner. Of course, anyone can dance together - whether man/woman, woman/woman or man/man. Nowadays we talk about followers and leaders anyway.

I don't have a dance partner - are there cab dancers?

There are no cab dancers.

To find a dance partner, you are welcome to use our Facebook community. Write your advertisement under the post "Dance partner wanted". You are welcome to give us your contact details, which we will pass on when we receive requests for dance partners. Visit our new format: Tanz:Fest Gastein Linedance Edition.

When and where do the evening events take place?

Get together party: Start 7.30 pm. Location to be announced.
Apré Ski meets Ballroom: Start 20.00 hrs. Location to be announced.
Hut evening in the Angertal: Departure by bus at 6.00 pm from the Congress Center. Short hike to the "Angerblick" hut. Return: approx. 23.00 hrs.
Chassé to Apres: 20.00 h at the congress center

Can I have dinner at the evening events?

At every evening event there is the possibility to have at least a snack. If you have booked dinner at your hotel and are eating out, don't forget to let reception know to cancel your dinner.

What about the hut evening?

The hut evening is a dance party at a ski hut in the Angertal valley. After a short bus ride, we walk about 20 minutes to the Angerblick ski hut. A small reception awaits you and then there is a traditional hut dinner (ribs from the pan and Kasnockn). Reception and dinner are included in the ticket. Drinks and any desserts such as Kaiserschmarren are to be paid for by yourself. And of course there will be plenty of dancing. Return to the bus by torchlight. Return approx. 23.00 at the congress center.

Do I have to register for the hut evening?

The hut evening is included in the dance pass. You do not need to register. If you cannot attend, please let the Tanz:Fest Info Desk know!

What is the dress code?

Workshops:

Sporty or casual, the way you prefer to come to dance lessons.

Events:

Get togehter party - casual

Apres Ski meets Ballroom - no dress code

Hut evening - warm, winter clothing. Sturdy shoes (we walk on snow)

Chassé to Apres - no dress code.

Are drinks available at the workshop locations?

You cannot buy drinks in the workshop locations. However, there is a supermarket around the corner. You can also fill up your own drinks bottle with tap water.

Workshop Locations

All Tanz:Fest Gastein workshops and practice sessions take place in the congress center, the Kursaal or the Festalm in Bad Hofgastein. Newly renovated in 2021, the modern facilities of the congress center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Praxis), the venerable rooms of the Kursaal and the festival location Festalm offer the perfect space for your dance classes and for the many evening events.
