: Family fun at the playground and Slackline Park

Just below the mountain station lies a small paradise for kids. While children climb, slide and romp around at the playground, parents can relax and take in the stunning views. Plus, the nearby Slackline Park also offers a fun challenge: Who can keep their balance and make it across the lines?

Balance and agility on the motor skills trail

The motor skills trail leads playfully through a series of stations designed to boost concentration, coordination and agility. Surrounded by alpine scenery, each exercise becomes a memorable experience. A standout feature is the rope bridge, part of the practice via ferrata. What awaits you there? A single wire rope beneath your feet, crisp mountain air in your nose, and – at the end – the proud sense of having mastered this small test of courage.

Climbing in an alpine setting

Climbing enthusiasts will find their perfect playground on Schlossalm too. From first attempts on the beginner-friendly practice via ferrata to demanding routes for seasoned climbers: The adventure mountain in Bad Hofgastein offers vertical thrills for all skill levels. With every step, the sense of achievement grows – a thrill at lofty heights that is second to none. And when it’s time to unwind, the sundeck at Schlossalm restaurant  invites you to relax and soak in the scenery.

Special experiences on the Schlossalm

Sometimes a day on the mountain can even offer a little more. The hiking swing days take you from summit to summit. On the way, the sun terraces of the mountain restaurants invite you to take a relaxing break with live music. Quite different, but just as impressive: the evening rides on the Schlossalmbahn. When the sun slowly disappears behind the mountain ridges and the landscape is bathed in warm light, the Schlossalm shows its particularly atmospheric side.

New restaurant on the Schlossalm

An extraordinary gastronomic experience with modern architecture, a cozy feel-good atmosphere and a fantastic panoramic terrace with a view of the Gastein mountains awaits you directly at the mountain station in December 2025. Enjoy alpine specialties, creative dishes and authentic hospitality - perfectly combined with the unique view over the Gastein Valley.

Whether after a hike, a day's skiing or simply to relax in the sun: the Schlossalm restaurant is the ideal place for connoisseurs and nature lovers.
