Mountain carting – quick facts
- Route: You’ll start at the Fulseck mountain station and ride down to the middle station – 4.8 km of pure excitement, over 550 m of elevation loss, and plenty of thrilling bends.
- Fun for (almost) everyone: Children aged 10+ or at least 1.40 m tall can ride by themselves. Carts are available in different sizes to ensure the right fit.
- Equipment: Helmets are provided free of charge, and safety goggles are available on site. A quick safety briefing from the pros gets you ready to roll.
- Technique: 3 wheels, 2 brakes, 1 handlebar – independent disc brakes on the rear wheels let you control speed and even drift through curves like a pro.
Winter mountain carting: speed through the snow
Think mountain carting is something you can only do in summer? Think again! In Dorfgastein, the adventure continues in winter. Equipped with special tyres, the carts let you race down snow-covered trails on Fulseck before the first skiers hit the slopes. During the Early Winter Mountain Cart experience, you’ll ride through the wintry landscape at sunrise. A must-try for anyone craving a change fromclassic winter sports.

How safe is mountain carting?
The sturdy carts feature wide rear wheels and strong disc brakes for a safe, yet dynamic ride. Before getting on, participants receive a short safety briefing to ensure they’re well prepared.
What clothing is recommended?
In summer, wear sporty clothing and sturdy footwear. Gloves and sunglasses can be helpful, too. In winter, we recommend warm winter sports gear, including gloves and ski goggles, to protect against wind and cold.
How long does the descent with the mountain carts take?
The 4.8 km route from the Fulseck’s summit to the middle station takes around 30 minutes – depending on whether you like to go fast or enjoy a more relaxed pace.
