Learning your first turns stress-free? In Gastein, this is child's play in the truest sense of the word. Because the creatively designed practice areas in the ski region make learning lots of fun. Whether it's the GASTI Park in Dorfgastein, the huge XXL GASTI Park in Angertal or the GASTI Park on the Stubnerkogel - a lovingly designed environment awaits everywhere, where little beginners will quickly become proud piste racers.
Gasti's sunniest snow park is located in Dorfgastein, right next to the valley station of the Fulseck summit lift. The magnificent 17,400 m² practice area offers enough space to conquer the world of skiing step by step. 4 magic carpets and the beginner-friendly Rauchleiten platter lift are ideal ascent aids for every beginner. The two ski schools on site teach according to the quality standards of Best2Learn Ski amadé, where the most modern learning methods are used. The Fulseck summit lift takes you from the snow park directly to Gasti's Family Line, a kilometer-long, safe, blue slope from the mountain station to the middle station. Here you can easily practise and improve the turns you have learned. And mascot GASTI guides children and adults along the route safely to the finish. All this makes Dorfgastein one of the most family-friendly ski resorts.
One of the largest children's and beginners' areas in the Alps awaits in the idyllic Angertal valley near Bad Hofgastein: 35,000 m² of skiing fun for families - from the first turns to your own ski movie video. Modern lifts, gentle conveyor belts and playful learning elements ensure stress-free learning. Indoor and outdoor play areas, a winter sports area and the Gasti children's hut provide variety. Ski schools, courses & equipment can be booked directly on site and conveniently online.
Advanced family members also benefit: The Stubnerkogel-Schlossalm ski circuit opens up additional kilometers of slopes, while rental, service and family-friendly gastronomy offer everything you need. Free parking, ski bus and winter hiking trails in the natural paradise of Angertal round off the experience.
The special award as the best children's ski area from the neutral ski resort test confirms the exceptional quality. From the first turn to your own ski movie video - families learn to ski in a fun way here.
The perfect practice area for ski beginners is located directly at the Stubnerkogelbahn valley station. Two modern magic carpets and a professional pole forest gently prepare you for your first lift rides. After the first turns, the double chairlift takes you to an easy practice slope - ideal for safe descents.
Thanks to the proximity to the entire mountain lift infrastructure , families can enjoy different levels of difficulty conveniently at the same location. Ski schools & childcare on site and the spectacular mountain scenery of Bad Gastein make the start to skiing particularly motivating.
What's the easiest way to learn to ski? Together with new friends, of course! Numerous ski schools in Gastein offer courses for beginners. Top-trained ski instructors are committed to accompanying children's first steps or turns in the snow. And the parents? They can now relax and explore the varied pleasure slopes of the four ski areas.
Have your kids outgrown their ski gear again? Or don’t have their own equipment yet? In Gastein, it’s easy to hire skis, poles and more. Many rental shops in the region offer state-of-the-art equipment and expert advice. This ensures that young skiers always have the perfect gear on the slopes, making skiing carefree and enjoyable right from the start.
On your sledges, get set, go! Perfectly groomed toboggan runs in the Gastein valley promise fast-paced descents for the whole family.
Whether you prefer spinning pirouettes or carefree gliding, the spacious ice rinks in the Gastein valley offer families joyful winter moments full of fun.
While adults enjoy the fine cuisine of Gastein's ski huts, children can recharge their batteries after skiing with hot chocolate or yeast dumplings at one of the many ski huts in the Gastein Valley.
Hop on a mountain cart and race down Fulseck adventure mountain on three wheels – an action-packed addition to classic skiing fun!
Whether it’s for warming up after skiing or as a fun activity on a rainy day, Gastein’s thermal spas are a popular destination for families in winter. While the children race down the water slides, mum and dad can make the most of the wide range of wellness and sauna options at Alpentherme or Felsentherme spa. Ski day or spa day? In wintry Gastein, it’s easy to have both.
